2 arrested for chain snatching

CHENNAI: Two persons accused in chain-snatching incidents were arrested by the Kumaran Nagar police here on Monday.

Police said Akbar alias Syed Nasser (30) of Vellore and Akbar alias Iqbal (28) of Saidapet had snatched two three-sovereign gold chains from A.Mallika of Puducherry and Sulochana of Ashok Nagar.

Six sovereigns of gold jewellery, two mobile phones and a motorcycle used to commit the offences were seized from them.
