Tamil Nadu beats Haryana
NEYVELI: Tamil Nadu defeated Haryana 2-1 in a quarterfinal league engagement of the 17th senior National women’s football championship, organised by the Cuddalore District Football Association along with its women’s wing, at the Bharathi Stadium here on Monday.
After a goalless first half, Satheesh Kumari netted in the 56th minute to put Tamil Nadu ahead. Suganya made it 2-0 soon. Manpreet Kaur reduced the margin for Haryana in the dying minutes of the match.
In another encounter, Orissa edged out Goa 1-0. Thumki Munda scored the winner in the second half.
