Jitendra, Karan join RCB

Principal Correspondent

Bangalore: Royal Challengers Bangalore signed up left-arm seamer Jitendra Patil and leg-spinner Karan Sharma for the coming Indian Premier League season.

The duo was earlier part of the short-list that was drawn up by the Royal Challengers’ talent scouts.

The Royal Challengers squad announcement was deferred as the IPL extended the deadline on account of Wednesday’s Holi festival and the holiday in North India.

The Royal Challengers squad has been finalised and is pending approval from franchise owner Vijay Mallya before it could be made public.

Discussing modalities

The Chinnaswamy Stadium is gearing up for IPL Season II and the KSCA had a finance committee meeting here on Wednesday evening to discuss the modalities of organising the revised schedule.

As part of the build up to the tournament, Keith McAuliffe, an expert on pitches from Queensland, Australia, has been roped into supervise the ground preparation as the regular chief curator Narayan Raju has taken a break.
