Detention of Seeman under the NSA challenged

CHENNAI: A petition challenging the detention of film director Seeman under the NSA has been filed in the Madras High Court. In his petition, his brother S. James Peter of Virugambakkam cited an earlier order of the Supreme Court, which had said that it could not be said that a person who professed or invited support or arranged, managed or assisted in arranging or managing a meeting or addressed a meeting had committed an offence if he did not have an intention or design to further the activities of any terrorist organisation or the commission of terrorist acts.
