HYDERABAD: A military officer driving a Santro was slapped with a penalty of Rs. 200 after his vehicle sideswiped the car in which Election Commissioner Navin Chawla was travelling, near Nizam Club outgate on Friday afternoon.

The military officer’s car had just emerged out of the gate when the vehicle carrying Mr. Chawla was crossing the gate. Maj. Sunil Gupta swerved towards left and in the process, his car grazed Mr. Chawla’s car.

There was not much damage to the Election Commissioner’s car which did not stop after the minor incident. The Major too did not stop but a home guard intercepted his vehicle at police control room junction.
