Young man commits suicide

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old man working for a multi-national company was found hanging at his residence in Malviya Nagar here over the weekend.

Manjot Singh’s body was found in his rented accommodation at Khirki Extension by one of his colleagues who visited him on Friday evening. Manjot was a team leader in his company in neighbouring Gurgaon.

“Manjot had not reported for work for over a week. When one of his colleagues came to enquire, he found the door bolted from inside. When Manjot did open the door despite repeated knocks, the visitor called up the Police Control Room. The police broke open the door and found him hanging. It seems he died a few days ago,” said a police officer.

The deceased left behind a suicide note saying he had failed to live up to the expectations of his parents and was putting an end to his life.

Manjot hailed from Gurdaspur in Punjab. His father is a farmer.
