DCC plea to high command

KRISHNAGIRI: The District Congress Committee (DCC) passed a resolution urging the high command to field a Congress candidate for the Krishagiri seat in the elections to the Lok Sabha.
At a consultative meeting held here on Saturday, the members described that it was once a Congress fort.The then Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president late Vazhapadi K. Ramamurthy had won from this constituency thrice.Former Union Minister late C. Subramaniam had also won in the by-election from this constituency. The present TNCC president K.V. Thankgabalu had also won in 1991, they said.
They said the Congress had won from this constituency on nine occasions.
Congress workers and taluk-level leaders attended the meeting.
