Teacher unions to stay away from dharna

Staff Reporter

ADILABAD: A few teacher unions affiliated with the Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisation (JACTO) on Saturday dissociated themselves from the call for a dharna on March 16 given by other teacher unions in the district. The Progressive Recognised Teachers Union, The AP State Teachers Union, the AP Teachers Association, among others asked their members not to participate in the dharna in front of the office of the District Educational Officer. Union leaders Satyanarayan Goud and P. Narender, among others, told reporters that the irregularities in promotions to teachers have been rectified and there was no point in staging an agitation in this regard.
