Cash, valuables stolen from shops

CHENNAI: Burglars broke into a commercial complex on Nainappan Naicker Street, Flower Bazaar, and decamped with cash and valuables worth about Rs. 6 lakh.
Police said the theft was noticed by Jayantlal, owner of a pharmaceutical company, when he came to open his shop on Saturday.
The main shutter was found partly open and the lock broken.
A total of Rs.4.25 lakh in cash and some silver vessels in his shop were found missing.
Cash was reported stolen from a few more shops in the complex.
Fingerprint experts and sniffer dogs were pressed into service.
The Flower Bazaar police have registered a case.
