National awards for Micro Enterprises

CHENNAI: The Centre has decided to give national awards to eligible Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the year 2008 and requested them to send filled-in applications to the MSME-Development Institute at Guindy by April 30.

According to a press release, the awards will be given under nine categories that consist of a certificate, trophy/shield and cash prize.

Five national awards for micro and small enterprises engaged in manufacturing; two awards for micro and small enterprises rendering services; two outstanding awards for medium enterprises in manufacturing and a special recognition award to MSME will be distributed during August.

The other awards are for selected products and R&D efforts in Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and medium enterprises; special recognition awards to MSE (quality products) and MSME (R&D efforts).
