Deadly flyover claims one more life

NEW DELHI: A call centre employee was killed when his motorcycle rammed into the railing of a flyover at Palam here on Saturday.

The accident took place when Chinlein Sanj (28) was returning to his rented accommodation in Munirka around 5 p.m. The police suspect that he was driving at high speed and rammed into the railing of the flyover while negotiating a sharp turn. The two-wheeler got stuck in the railings, while the young man was tossed into the air and fell down from the flyover.

He sustained serious head injuries and was declared brought dead at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital.

Earlier, four members of a family were killed in a similar manner when their motorcycle rammed into the railing of the flyover this past week. Deepak Kumar (27), his wife Renu (26), their son Bishav (6) and daughter Neeru (3) were going to a temple when the accident took place.

“Motorists driving at high speed lose control over the vehicle while negotiating the sharp turn,” said a police officer.
