NEW DELHI: Malayalam film actor turned human life scientist M.M. Alex has been working towards setting up a bridge between modern and ancient medical therapies by creating a digital data base on the medical aspects of various alternative forms of treatment. Alex, a former film screen villain, has founded a few non-profit organisations and developed over 220 digital encyclopaedias on topics ranging from religions to tourism, human rights to wave genetics. He will be lecturing in Delhi on “Good health today with modern and ancient therapies” at India Habitat Centre on March 28 and “Good health today, an Islamic view” at India Islamic Centre on April 1. He will be addressing biological, physiological, sociological and spiritual aspects of health and illness today in the expectation that the listeners will benefit from his practical approach and simple solutions towards achieving good health. Holder of a doctorate in alternative therapies, Alex currently heads the Institute of Ancient Integrative Therapies Research with the mission to disseminate information on health through lecture tours, workshops, seminars and courses. Explaining that the basic aim of his therapies is to help people understand the human body and live according to the nature of their bodies, he says: “When it comes to health and health care, we are ignorant. Self-realisation about the ancient systems of healing and good living combined with contemporary medicines can help improve the quality of life.” “Through my work I want to collect, preserve and promote the ancient texts in a modern format which can be made available to the common man and woman and provided to them in a manner that they would understand and use,” he adds.
