Mangalore: Two incidents of violence were reported to have occurred at Vittla and one at Thumbey in relation to the samajotsava on Sunday. According to police, a bus carrying the participants of the samajotsava was stone at in Okkettur near Vittla. Windshield of the bus was broken but no person was injured. In retaliation, some people travelling in the bus allegedly stopped an autorickshaw and attacked its driver Badruddin, and damaged the vehicle. Two cases have been registered in Vittla Police Station. At Thumbey, a jeep returning from Mangalore was stoned, breaking the windshield of the vehicle. Shivannagowda, who was among the travellers in the jeep, was hurt. A case has been registered at Bantwal Rural Police Station. No arrests have been made, according to Superintendent of Police A. Subrahmanyeshwar Rao.
