Ex-Servicemen demand one-rank-one-pension
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi wing of the National Ex-Servicemen Coordination Committee organised a special meeting at Jantar Mantar here on Monday to demand one-rank-one-pension for ex-Servicemen.
Addressing the workers, former Vice-Chancellor of Kumaon University, Nainital, K. C. Joshi, said the working conditions for soldiers were hazardous compared to civil services. “Our soldiers’ dedication and bravery have saved the country from the onslaughts in 1962, 1965 and 1971 besides the Kargil armed conflict in 1999. They have always remained alert at the borders. It is a pity that soldiers who had earned their medals through their grit and services to the country are now returning them to the Government.”
