CUDDALORE: Collector Rajendra Ratnoo has called upon chemical units in the SIPCOT Industrial Estate here to create awareness among residents in the vicinity of disaster preparedness and management. Mr. Ratnoo spoke at a review meeting held here on Thursday. He said that during natural disasters such as cyclone, floods and tsunami the chemical units set up closer to the coastal areas could be a threat to the people and environment. ResponsibilityTherefore, these units had to arrange for demonstrations on disaster management techniques. Mr. Ratnoo also insisted upon the units to fully cooperate with the officials in implementing the pollution control norms.
