Engineering student commits suicide

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: An engineering student is believed to have committed suicide reportedly due to ill health at the beach near Tenneti Park on Thursday.

Sk. Khadaran, a native of Chilakaluripeta, was doing Computer Science Engineering at a private college near Madhurawada. She was staying at her relative’s house at MVP Colony, according to P.M. Palem CI Ch. Vivekananda. She left home as usual at 7.45 a.m. on Thursday. Instead of going to college she went to the Tenneti Park Beach. She left her slippers, cell phone and books on the beach and went into the water, apparently, to commit suicide. A little while later, her body was washed ashore.

The death was suspected to have occurred between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. “The victim lost her parents. One of her brother is in Mumbai, while the other is in Guntur. Her brother informed us that she was suffering from some health problem,” the CI said.

The body was sent to King George Hospital for post-mortem. P.M. Palem Police are investigating the case.
