‘Savour’ the summer

After a few days of break, the heat is back in the twin cities.

The temperatures have started soaring and are threatening to cross 39 degrees, which was the case in the city during last week. Commuters, who usually bear the brunt of the sun, are finding unique ways and means to avoid the scorching heat.

Cool natural drinks like ‘pudina’ water and sugarcane juice are in huge demand. The ‘khas-khas’ used in air coolers is being sold in large numbers. With air-conditioners on the costlier side, air-coolers are proving to be a cheaper alternative for one and all.

With a few days left for Ugadi celebrations, mangoes have started making entry into the fruit market. Surely, despite the hard-to-tolerate heat of Hyderabad, there are ways to stay cool and safe this summer.
