Ramaswamy said. Inaugurating a day-long national conference on Physical Education, Sports and Art of Well-Being, organised by the Department of Physical Education, Bishop Heber College here on Friday, Mr. Ramaswamy said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) played an important role in the development of infrastructure in colleges. He said the youth population is the biggest asset of the country and that they should be given more opportunities to showcase their talent. Dr. Sivanthi Adithanar College of Physical Education Principal P. John Sebastian in his keynote address said that physical education and sports were inseparable and they paved way for a healthy living. He felt the title of the conference was apt. Offering felicitations, college Principal M. Marcus Diepen Boominathan said that sports played a crucial role in the all-round development of the youngsters. Mr. Ramaswamy released a souvenirwhich was received by the Principal. More than 100 papers were presented in the seminar sponsored by the UGC.
