NEW DELHI: Somdev Devvarman and his South African partner Izak Van Der Merwe beat wild cards Faris Akhazzan of Britain and Peerakit Siriluethaiwattana of Thailand 6-0, 6-3 to make the quarterfinals of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Korat, Thailand, on Monday.
In singles, Devvarman has been seeded seventh and is drawn to meet Alexandre Kudryavtsev of Russia in the first round.
Prakash Amritraj lost in the first round 7-5, 7-6(3) to the top-seeded Andreas Beck of Germany.
