‘Mechanica-2009’ held at Raghu Engineering College VISAKHAPATNAM: State Bank of India Assistant General Manager S.V.S. Ram Prasad on Tuesday asked the students not to crave for mobiles, movies and bikes. Speaking at the two-day national-level technical symposium ‘Mechanica-2009’ at Raghu Engineering College (REC), he said the primary role of the students was to study. Every student must be well equipped with knowledge. “Our lifestyle may be influenced by mechanisation but life should not be mechanised,” he remarked. He said budding engineers should excel in their endeavour to contribute to nation building. As part of Mechanica, a number of interesting events like ‘Ammageddon’ (paper presentation), ‘Celciur’ (poster presentation), judgment day, steel collars, corporate and avalanche. Role of facultyRaghu Engineering College chairman K. Raghu said in his speech that the faculty had to shape the future of the students by ensuring quality education with commitment. He said students should set small targets to pave the way to realise their dreams. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant AGM (maintenance) P.C. Mahapatro, Raghu academic director P.C. Raju, principal B.V.R. Murthy and others spoke.
