Side middle berths to go in 3-tier coaches

MADURAI: The Ministry of Railways has decided to do away with side middle berths in three-tier coaches, according to Minister of State for Railways R. Velu.

In a letter to Madurai MP P. Mohan, who highlighted the inconvenience caused to passengers because of these berths, Mr. Velu said he had examined the issue and the Ministry had decided to discontinue the provision. — Staff Reporter
