Cyberabad police is an SMS away

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Two-and-half-a-months after the Hyderabad police launched SMS facility for the public, their counterparts in Cyberabad followed suit by unveiling similar service on Tuesday.

Citizens can approach the Cyberabad police on any matter relating to policing by sending messages through mobile phones to telephone no. 9640 100 100, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner, S. Prabhakar Reddy, told reporters. Brief details of the problem like place of incident and nearby landmark can be sent to this number so that police could quickly come to the rescue of the needy.

For complaints relating to Traffic, the sender should type T, give space and type the message. Similarly, letters C, W and TE should be typed for issues relating to Crime, Women and Terror followed by space. Any issues other than these can be directly typed without specific letters.
