Bank executive found murdered

HYDERABAD: The police on Tuesday unravelled the mystery behind the disappearance of a bank loan collection executive, Sushil Kumar, when two suspects admitted to have eliminated him as he was pressing them to repay Rs. 20,000 loan.

Based on the confession of the two accused, Syed Ismail and Akram, the Mangalhat police of West Zone exhumed the victim’s body from an open plot in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar of Pahadishariff on the city outskirts in the presence of revenue officials. A resident of Badigalli in lower Dhoolpet, Kumar was working as a collection executive for HDFC bank.

Credit card due

As part of the job, he was repeatedly pursuing Ismail’s brother, who had availed a loan of Rs. 20,000 on his credit card, to clear it for the past few weeks. On learning about the pressure being mounted on his brother for loan repayment, Ismail hatched a plot to eliminate Kumar and sought the assistance of his friend Akram.

As per the plan, the duo lured Kumar to Chandrayanagutta stating that they would repay the loan amount on March 17. They drove him to Ismail’s open plot in his car in the evening. On reaching the spot, they stabbed him to death and buried the body after digging a five-foot deep pit, the Goshamahal ACP, Radhakrishna, told reporters.

The duo later got a water sump built at the place to ensure that no one learnt about the killing. During interrogation, the Mangalhat police stumbled upon leads that the victim was last seen with the accused and picked them up. Subsequently, they confessed to the murder.
