PM dismisses allegations

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday dismissed alleged statements of Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh that he did not “defend” him in the OBC reservation issue in 2006, saying all decisions taken by the Cabinet had his full support.

“I have not seen the statement that is attributed to Arjun Singhji. Arjun Singh is a distinguished member of my Cabinet. All decisions taken by the Cabinet naturally has my fullest support. There is no truth...,” the Prime Minister said after releasing the party manifesto at a function here.

Corrections and Clarifications

The last paragraph of a PTI report "PM dismisses allegations" (March 25, 2009) was "In a biography, whose release function has been cancelled, Mr. Arjun Singh has reportedly claimed that Dr. Singh did not defend him on the OBC reservation issue in 1996." The year should have been 2006.
