Navy chopper crashes off Goa

PANAJI: An Indian Navy ‘Kamov’ 28 helicopter on a routine sortie crashed 22 nautical miles off the Goa coast on Wednesday.
A Navy spokesman at the Goa base said the three crew-members were rescued.
The main part of the fuselage was located following search operations.
The helicopter crashed around 11 a.m..
Cause yet to be ascertained
The cause of the crash was yet to be ascertained. The navy has set up a court of inquiry. The crew members, rescued by a naval light helicopter on search- and-rescue duty, sustained minor injuries and were hospitalised.
INS Bitra, which was in the vicinity, helped in the search operations, the spokesman said.
