TIRUCHI: The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD), Bharathidasan University, is in the process of orienting 1,360 students from affiliated colleges in eight districts to entrepreneurship. The one-day orientation that commenced on March 4, was conducted at IECD on four days and at its nodal centres in Srinivasan College of Arts and Science Perambalur; J.J. College of Arts and Science, Pudukottai; Bharat College of Science and Management, Thanjavur; AVC College, Nagapattinam; and Valluvar College of Arts and Science, Karur. The programme meant to create general awareness on youth entrepreneurship will be conducted for students in Tiruvarur district at Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose College on March 28, and will culminate with a training programme for girl students of Tiruchi district at Shrimati Indira Gandhi College on March 30. In the second phase, the participants with the right aptitude will be chosen for a five-day residential programme to be conducted during the vacation, K. Parthasarathy, Director, IECD, said. Depending on the number of students the residential programme will be conducted for two to three batches of 50 students each. For the convenience of students, the IECD may conduct the residential programmes at one or two nodal centres, besides the Institute, Dr. Parthasarathy said.
