Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government is contemplating raising memorial for freedom fighters from the State who laid down their lives in the 1857 revolt at Rani Jhansi Park here, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said on Wednesday. Names of the freedom fighters who contributed significantly during the First War of Independence would be engraved upon the memorial as a tribute to their supreme sacrifice, he said while presiding over a review meeting of Language and Culture department here.
