P. Krishnaiah to contest from Gudur

HYDERABAD: Chief Public Relations Officer of the South Central Railway (SCR) Panabaka Krishnaiah was bid a fond farewell after he took voluntary retirement for his political ‘arangetram’.

The gathering at a city hotel comprised members of the PR department in the SCR and prominent personalities in the media.

An Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, Mr. Krishnaiah, had a 14-year stint as Chief Public Relations Officer in the SCR.

Responding to the felicitations, he spoke of his humble beginnings in a poor agricultural family and said it had always been his dream to enter politics and serve the poor and downtrodden. Mr. Krishnaiah is the official Congress candidate for Gudur Assembly seat while his wife and Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi will contest from the Ongole Lok Sabha seat.
