MALAPPURAM: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday rebuffed the claims of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) that it had helped PDP chairman Abdul Nasir Maudany when he was in the Coimbatore jail. It was the IUML help that ensured 10 years of imprisonment for Mr. Maudany. In fact, Mr. Maudany was set free from jail only when the IUML and the Congress stopped helping, said C.K. Abdul Azeez, PDP policy formulation council convener. Mr. Azeez rebuffed the claims made by IUML State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty that he had helped Mr. Maudany following the requests the PDP leader made from jail.
