Girl dies as parapet wall collapses
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: A 12-year-old girl died while her teenaged brother sustained serious injuries when adjacent house’s parapet wall collapsed as three children were trying to cut neem flowers standing on it to make Ugadi pachchadi on Friday at Saroornagar. The tragedy on Ugadi festival day occurred when eighth standard student Satyavati and her brother, Naresh, Intermediate first year student were sipping tea in their metal sheet-roofed house around noon. They were wards of an autorickshaw driver Anjaiah and maid Lalita. Three children of the adjacent house -all in their teens- climbed up the single-brick-thick parapet wall to cut neem flowers for making the Ugadi Pachchadi.
