Udhagamandalam: A management and cultural festival christened ‘Fantasia-2009’ organised by the Merit International Education Foundation here on Saturday enabled students to spend a memorable day. The Academic Coordinator of the Foundation, Uma Jaidev, told ‘The Hindu’ that such an event was being organised for the second time by the Foundation. While the first edition held last year had attracted about 90 students from four colleges, this year about 160 students from six colleges including the JSS College of Pharmacy, Emerald Heights College for Women, Monarch College of Hotel Management, CSI College of Engineering, Merit International Institute of Technology and the Suverna International Institute of Management had turned up. PopularityAttributing the growing popularity of the event to the valuable exposure it provides to the students, she said that it was packed with programmes of a varied kind which were not only entertaining but also educative. A final year MBA student of the Merit IIT S. Sathish said that the event provided an ideal forum to showcase talent.
