Congress releases list of 142 candidates

BHUBANESWAR: The Congress finally released the names of its candidates for 16 of the 21 Parliamentary constituencies and 142 of the 147 Assembly seats on Saturday.

The most prominent leaders whose names were missing in the list include former Chief Minister J.B. Patnaik, his wife Jayanti Patnaik and former Pradesh Congress Committee president Sarat Patnaik. Mr. Patnaik, however, said that he will not contest the coming elections, but campaign for the party nominees across the State.
