Kannur
WELCOME: UDF candidate for the Kannur Lok Sabha constituency K. Sudhakaran being greeted by IUML leader M.K. Muneer at an election campaign meeting in Kannur on Saturday. KANNUR: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State secretary and former Minister M.K. Muneer has accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of pursuing a ‘dangerous political game’ that encourages both communalism and extremism. Inaugurating the campaign tour of K. Sudhakaran, the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate for the Kannur Lok Sabha constituency in the Azhikode segment, near the Sundareswara Temple here on Saturday, Dr. Muneer said that the key question facing the coming Lok Sabha election was whether India should survive as a secular democracy or not. Weakening of the Congress would lead to the growth of communalism and extremism, he said adding that responsible political parties were joining hands with reactionary forces to weaken the Congress.
