THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian Overseas Bank defeated Zeroes CC by 46 runs in the Thiruvananthapuram district B division cricket league at the Agriculture College ground here on Saturday. The scores: IOB 225 in 42.1 overs (Pradeep Sudhan 64, Sreekumar 47, James Lee three for 46) bt Zeroes CC 179 in 40.5 oves (E. Sizad 44, A. Rahul four for 23). Oxford posts winOxford CC (Kollam) and New Cricket Club (Pathanamthitta) recorded wins in the IPO Cricket Fest all-Kerala tournament at the Ashramom Maidan at Kollam on Saturday. Oxford CC rode on Akash Babu’s all-round performance to defeat Town Club, Karunagappally by 45 runs, while New CC crushed Cricket Club, Punalur by eight wickets. The scores: Oxford CC 233 for seven in 30 overs (Jinan 70, Akash Babu 35, Sreekanth three for 42) bt Town Club, Karunagappally 188 in 27.4 overs (Sethu 61, Santosh 42, Akash Babu five for 25). Cricket Club, Punalur 137 in 23.2 overs (Sajeer four for 15) lost to New CC, Pathanamthitta 140 for two in 24 overs (Praveen 70 n.o., Sreerag 33). Selection trialsThe Kerala Cricket Association will conduct trials to select trainees (only boys) in the age group of 12 to 15 years for its proposed cricket academies and sports hostels. The trails will be conducted in all districts on April 4 and 5. Those interested may report at the venue at 10 a.m. on the day of the trials accompanied by parent or guardian. The venues: Thiruvananthapuram (Medical College ground), Kollam (Asramam maidan), Alappuzha (SD College ground), Kottayam (Nehru Stadium), Ernakulam (SH College, Thevara), Idduki (St. George School stadium), Thrissur (SKVC ground), Kozhikode (Corporation stadium), Palakkad (Fort Maidan), Malappuram (Perinthalmanna cricket stadium), Kasaragod (Municipal Stadium), Kannur (Thalassery cricket stadium) and Wayand (St. Mary’s College ground, Sultan Bathery).
