Training for poll officials

KOCHI: Training for officials deployed for election duty will begin on Monday. Training will be led by assistant returning officers and tahsildars at the Assembly constituency level.

The presiding officer and the first polling official will be given training as one batch, while the second and third polling officials will undergo training as another batch. The training will continue till April 2. Meanwhile, use of mobile phones has been banned in polling stations. The presiding officer, election observer and security personnel will be allowed to keep mobile phones within 100 metres of the booth.
