Life convict on parole attacks woman

CHENNAI: A life convict who came out on parole allegedly attacked a woman in Triplicane on Friday night.

Police said S. Sasi alias Sasikumar (30) of Border Thottam was convicted in a murder case and lodged in the Puzhal Central Prison.

He was released on parole early this week. Sasi went to Triplicane and attacked Alamelu (32), one of the witnesses who deposed in the trial of the murder case in which he was convicted, causing a bleeding injury.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, the Triplicane police arrested the accused who was produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody.
