Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Rs.95 crore new integrated terminal building at the Visakhapatnam airport, has geared up for the full-fledged operations from Monday.

The airport was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on February 21 and trial operations were carried out from Friday.

According to the Director of Airport C. Pattabhi, all clearances have been received and the terminal complex is ready for full-fledged operations from Monday. Five airlines are operating and there would be 13 flights on each day, he said. The number of passengers had also been going up.

According to the Director, the number is likely to cross the 50,000 mark for the month of March. The recession seems to have no impact on traffic at the Visakhapatnam airport.
