Cop killed in accidental fire

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old Delhi police constable was killed when his AK-47 assault rifle went off accidentally at Vasant Vihar here on Sunday.

Anil Kumar was checking the rifle before handing it over to another constable at the end of his duty in the morning when the weapon suddenly went off. Two bullets hit him in the stomach and one in the hand.

He died at the trauma centre of All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Anil was deployed with the anti-riot vehicle Vajra near Vasant Continental hotel. He was a native of Rewari in Haryana.
