GUNTUR: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at eight places connected to properties related to Executive Engineer in Nagarjun Sagar Project, Lingamguntla Operations and Maintenance, Gavini Prasad, revealing documents related to landed property running into crores. The ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rama Umamaheswara Sarma, led the raids in Vinukonda with Circle Inspector Y. Jagannadham to unearth properties purchased from 1977 - the time he joined the NSP as Assistant Engineer at various locations in the State including Hyderabad. The ACB sleuths said the face value of these properties were Rs.50 lakh. A suitcase full of documents related to a political party leader in Prakasam district were also found but the names were not revealed. The ACB sleuths found cash Rs.7,000, gold and silver ornaments and articles from his palatial house at Kothapet in Vinukonda in Guntur district. While the exact value of all the properties owned by the Executive Engineer either in his name or his relatives was not ascertained fully, its current value was said to be in several crores they were in Uppalapadu, Tripurapuram in Nujendla mandal in Guntur district, Mutla Lingapuram, Mallelapadu, Hyderabad, Guntur, Sattenapalle, Santanuthalapadu in Prakasam district, Vinukonda, Repalle. He had purchased, house sites, fish tanks, agriculture lands, houses, during his tenure in the department. Nine Circle Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors were involved in the simultaneous raids.
