‘Follow non-violence’

Staff Correspondent

Bijapur: In the last five decades, people have understood the concept of Hindutva and have started protesting whenever Hindu gods and people are insulted across the country, said Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

Referring to recent violence allegedly perpetrated by some Hindutva organisations, he said leaders of such organisations should guide youth in the right direction and advise them not indulge in activities that hurt the sentiments of other individuals. “They should always follow the path of non-violence,” he said. “Hindutva doesn’t mean appeasing a particular community and ill-treating others. It propagates brotherhood among people of all communities and lays stress on treating everybody equally”, he added.
