Call for improved safety norms in industries
HYDERABAD: R. Koteswara Rao, Director of Factories and Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh chapter of National Safety Council, on Monday called for improved safety standards in engineering industries, particularly in small and medium units.
Inaugurating a workshop on ‘Safety in fabrication and engineering industries’ organised jointly by the department and the council, he said the accident rate in industries in the State was lower than the national average.
100 representatives
Representatives of over 100 industries attended the workshop.
K. N. Srihari and G. Bala Kishore, Joint Chief Inspectors of Factories, T. Mohan Babu, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Ranga Reddy district, were among the participants, according to an official release issued here.
