COIMBATORE: The Isha Foundation joined the world in observing Earth Hour on Saturday by switching off non-essential electrical appliances and lights. According to a release, the effort is part of the foundation’s commitment towards restoring the environment and reversing climate change. Through Isha Green Hands, the foundation had planted over 9.5 million saplings in the States of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Green coverThe project also aimed at creating 10 per cent additional green cover in the State of Tamil Nadu in southern India. It hoped to plant 114 million trees in the State by 2010.
