V.R.V. Singh recovering fast

BANGALORE: Seamer V.R.V. Singh, who was plagued by a left ankle injury, is on the road to recovery, according to a National Cricket Academy press release. V.R.V. Singh had undergone corrective surgery in Australia and the last few months were devoted to rehabilitation interspersed with frequent visits to the NCA.

The academy’s physical training staff of Paul Close and Paul Chapman, along with bowling coach B. Arun and chief coach Dav Whatmore, monitored his progress and the quartet believes that the speedster will return fitter and better.

“I would like to play well for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and then look ahead to next season which starts in mid-September,” V.R.V. Singh said.

Meanwhile Paul Close added: “He has progressed well and we hope to see him back to full fitness very soon.” — Principal Correspondent
