Kui Samaj fields three candidates

Staff Reporter

BERHAMPUR: The tribal organization Kui Samaj Samanwaya Samity (KSSS) has decided to field its members as candidates in three Assembly segments of Kandhamal district under the baner of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). “We wanted our tribal activists to contest the elections with a common symbol under a common platform, so we chose to field candidature as JMM candidates”, said Lambodar Kanhar, secretary of the coordination committee of the Kui Samaj.

The members of the Kui Samaj who have filed nomination papers as JMM candidates are Artatrana Kanhar from Phulbani, Binayak Pradhan from G.Udaygiri and Nilambar Mallik from Baliguda. Mr Kanhar said the main issue for their candidates would be the fake tribal caste certificates used by non tribals in the district and the solution to the land disputes caused by illegal takeover of tribal land by non tribals in Kandhamal district.
