Currency note exchange mela

CHENNAI: As part of 74th anniversary celebrations, the Reserve Bank of India will organise a coin and currency note exchange mela and public awareness campaign on forged notes on Wednesday.

An official release from the bank said the mela will be held in three commercial banks – HDFC Bank, Selaiyur branch, Camp Road, East Tambaram; Indian Bank, Kanchipuram, Kamatchi Amman Kalyana Mandapam, near Kamatchi Amman temple and Indian Overseas Bank, Ponneri branch located on Tiruvottiyur High Road, Ponneri.

Members of public can bring the soiled and cut notes or coins and exchange them. The timings will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A three-day currency and coin exhibition has been organised at the Banking Hall of Reserve Bank on Kamarajar Salai, here which will be inaugurated on Wednesday, the release added.
