ONGC takes honours

NEW DELHI: Half-centuries by Tanmoy Srivastava and Virat Kohli guided Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to a four-wicket win over Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) in the final of the 29th PSPB inter-unit cricket tournament at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground here on Tuesday.

Praveen Gupta, who struck an unbeaten 16-ball 28, played a crucial role in his team’s title win and was named the man of the match.

Suhail Sharma was adjudged the man of the tournament. Kohli was declared the best batsman while Avishkar Salvi was chosen the best bowler.

The scores: BPCL 234 for six in 40 overs (Vineet Indulkar 62, Udai Kaul 53, Onkar Khanvilkar 32) lost to ONGC 235 for six in 38.4 overs (Tanmoy Srivastava 69, Virat Kohli 58, Suhail Sharma 28 not out, Praveen Gupta 28 not out).
