Eco-friendly products will be on sale for three days It is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Manipal: Students of Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) will organise a three-day exhibition and sale of traditional and eco-friendly products titled “Namma Angadi – 2009” at the Nehru Memorial Library here from April 3. According to a press release here on Wednesday, the exhibition-cum- sale is open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. On sale will be cotton kurtas for men and women, shirts, tops, and skirts. Cotton and ‘kalamkari’ materials are available with stitching facilities. Decorative items, wooden cutlery, jewellery, cane and bamboo products, lavancha items, clay products, stationery items, baskets and trays are available along with kokum, shikakai, aloe vera soap, ayurvedic preparations, natural fertilisers would also be on display. Namma Angadi is a humanitarian attempt to revive our traditional products, eco-friendly practices and culture. It serves as a marketing platform for rural artisans to showcase their products to meet the contemporary market needs. Namma BhoomiNamma Angadi is the marketing platform of Namma Bhoomi, a residential school for working children in Kundapur. Its parent body is the Concerned for Working Children’ (CWC), a private development agency based in Bangalore. The CWC has been working in the field of children’s rights and civil society participation over two decades.
