HOSUR: Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veerasamy has said that the power situation in the State will improve in May. He gave this assurance to a delegation of the Hosur Small and Tiny Industries Association (HOSTIA) here on Wednesday.
He also told the delegation that the electricity production through wind power would start next month. He promised the delegation that if the situation improves the demand to withdrawal of energy cut would be considered.
The Association submitted a memorandum to the Minister at the Bangalore Airport.
They also demanded withdrawal of power cut, a separate 350 MV power supply to Hosur and announce 24-hour power for six days and one day power holiday until the situation improves.
They also pointed out that more than 60,000 labourers are working in the small and tiny industries in and around Hosur. Due to power cut, the industrial units are in deep trouble, it added.
