PUDUKOTTAI: Honouring the outstanding cadets, cultural programmes on patriotic themes by the cadets marked the Annual Day of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) – Army Wing of the H.H. The Rajah’s College here recently. The annual report presented by Cdt. S. Kalaivani highlighted the achievements of the cadets CPL N. Marimuthu, CPL C. Kalpana, and CPL M. Mahaboob Beevi, who were members of the Tamil Nadu NCC contingent which took part in the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. Of them CPL Kalpana took part in the traditional march at Rajpath. CPL. L. Parameswari won bronze medal in the obstacle competition held at the All India Thal Sainik Camp held in New Delhi in October 2008. The report pointed out that nine NCC cadets, who had passed out of the college last year got government jobs, including eight as sub-inspectors in the Tamil Nadu Police. The Group Commander, NCC, Tiruchi, Col. B. N. Chetan was the chief guest and he commended the cades for all their devotion and commitment shown for NCC which has translated into solid achievements. He exhorted them to maintain the same spirit in the coming years too. The Superintendent of Police, P. Moorthy, hailed the ceaseless efforts taken by the NCC – Army Wing towards attaining perfection. He honoured the former NCC cadets who are serving in the Tamil Nadu Police. The Chairman of the District Panchayat Council, C. Muthusamy, in his address became nostalgic recollecting his own days as an under-officer of the NCC of the College. The Principal of the College, M. Chidambaranathan presided over the function. The Principal of the Sri Bharathi College of Arts and Science, Kaikurichi, P. Annamalai and the NCC Commanding Officer, P. Rajaretnam offered felicitations.
