Thumping win for Dempo
Margao: Despite being reduced to a 10-men side midway through the second half, defending champion Dempo thumped Mohammedan Sporting 4-1 to figure fourth in the ONGC I-League at the Nehru Stadium here on Thursday.
Dempo, which was leading 3-0 during the half-time, scored through Ranty Martins (8th, 22nd), Roberto Mendes D’Silva (34th) and Joaquim Abranches (88th).
Mike Okoro pulled one back for Mohammedans in the 68th minute off a penalty after defender John Dias deliberately handled a goal bound shot from Mike Okoro inside the box. Dias was red carded. — PTI
